MINIATURE LOPS
My liking for miniature lops came whilst visiting Jane Bramley’s sheds. Her baby minis were so appealing and I thought that, unlike the French Lops, one would have more continuity for showing. (The Frenchies, once they are out of the u/5 classes need to be grown on gently and steadily for quite some time before you can show them again)
Peter Faint came to my rescue here with some really good black and blue otter stock. The year after I added a Choc Fox buck from Steve Walley which, along with Peter’s lines, gave me some really nice showable stock in black, blue and choc. This line has not only held their own on the table for me but for others who have had my stock.
This year (2010) I decided to let this line go to some breeders wanting these colours. I still have two bucks and two does left so will continue with a smaller breeding structure with my otters and foxes.
The line I have kept back also produces REW which I have not kept for showing before but will now be adding them to my show string.
