FRENCH LOPS
In 2005, after a break of about ten years from showing Cavies, I decided to get back into the hobby again but decided on rabbits instead.
Whilst I had the cavies also had a huge but charmingly gentle French Lop - so why not keep Frenchies?
Mona Cawdron let me have some stock to start me of. To which I added a pair of Agouti Butterflies from my now good friend Peter Faint. This gave me the chance to improve my agouti line. The buck, which soon became Ch Titus Faint of Cobbycroft, has put his mark on most of my breeding.
I then decided that I would like to add Steels to my shed and was highly delighted when I was able to get a Steel buck (Riley) and a super steel doe (Melody) from Hazel and Sarah Elliott.
These have done me proud too, with Riley holding his own on the show bench and Melody producing some really lovely babies. Titus has also added some weight to this project.

2011 has not been a good one for my Frenchies.
I lost one of my best show bucks after a show, then another the same week after a mishap in the garden. Also, we decided to call it a day for my beloved Titus after two operations on his eyes proved unsuccessful.
2011 will see the last litter of French lops at Cobbycroft
I have decided that due to my increased level of pain from fibromyalgia and other health problems I am moving into smaller, easier to handle stock
